Fishbourne Reads

We love reading at Fishbourne. In fact, when you arrive at our school you’ll see books everywhere... bursting out of classrooms, in shared spaces, in our lovely library! We are super lucky to have an amazing library space with lots of contemporary books and some very keen Book Worms who work alongside our volunteers to  keep it tidy and offer lots of recommendations to their class mates. You’ll also see us reading everywhere... in fact we’ve got five reading groups in school who just meet for the sheer joy of sharing great books, usually over a mug of hot chocolate! One of these groups even has a very special guest each week- Kassie, a PAT dog, who comes to join in the fun!

This year we are loving reading more than ever and we are so very proud to have Sophy Henn as our Patron of Reading. You can read more about Sophy on our ABOUT US pages, under Patron of Reading. She’s such an amazing addition to our school and we are super duper proud to have a special relationship with such a brilliant author. /page/?title=Patron+of+Reading&pid=95

Mrs Webb also helps us love books... she visits us every week and works with our teachers to help them to love all things books! Mrs Webb’s ‘proper’ job is working as a senior lecturer at the University of Chichester where she inspires the teachers of the future. We are very lucky to be able to work with Mrs Webb every Thursday and it’s a day we all look forward to very much! Mrs Webb is supporting us to produce our own reading newsletter each half term where we provide reviews of new books and share reading news from across the school! Do check them out!!
