Fishbourne Reads

We love reading at Fishbourne. In fact, when you arrive at our school you’ll see books everywhere... bursting out of classrooms, in shared spaces, in our lovely library! We are super lucky to have an amazing library space with lots of contemporary books and some very keen Book Worms who work alongside our volunteers to  keep it tidy and offer lots of recommendations to their class mates. You’ll also see us reading everywhere... in fact we’ve got three reading groups in school who just meet for the sheer joy of sharing great books, usually over a mug of hot chocolate!

We are also so very proud to have Sophy Henn as our Patron of Reading. You can read more about Sophy on our ABOUT US pages, under Patron of Reading. She’s such an amazing addition to our school and we are super duper proud to have a special relationship with such a brilliant author. Patron of Reading

Star light, star bright,

First star I see tonight;

I wish I may, I wish I might,

Have the wish I wish tonight

This month (March 2021) we launched our Amazon Wishlist and we have been utterly blown away by the generosity of our Fishbourne families. Here are the books that have arrived in school this week! These will shortly be making their way into our amazing library where the children will be able to browse through the collections on offer and choose something to borrow. Our children are so lucky to have such a wonderful collection of books, exploring so many important themes!

Our wish is for the children to grow up with the same love of books that is shared by so many of us! Keeping our library and classrooms fully stocked with books is really important and so we invite you to donate a book to our school library if you possibly can. We will put a special bookplate into the book thanking your family for your donation to our school. We have set up an Amazon Wish List from which you can support us in this way are able to do so:
