Our Fishbourne Community

Today we have said a temporary goodbye to many of our children. We have spent the day giving the children the opportunity to talk, share their feelings and giving them many ideas about activities they can be doing for their health and wellbeing while they are away.

Every child has painted or drawn a rainbow today – a symbol of hope. We would like the children to put their rainbow in a window of their home, facing outward to brighten our community. When the children are out for a walk, they can spot as many as they can – like a giant game of community I-Spy! When we see a rainbow, let it remind us of how important our local community is to us and our school motto:

‘There is only one you in this great big world… make it a better place’

We all now have an opportunity to serve our community, friends and family in a multitude of ways and really live out the vision of our school.

We will be setting up a book exchange for the children who are not in school to use. This will be located in the school carpark and you are very warmly welcomed and encouraged to make use of it during this time. We will keep it fresh - please do make sure you pop in a book in exchange for every book you take.

We will also have a telephone line open each day between now and the Easter break for parents who may have queries or questions about supporting children’s learning at home, or who may need any advice or signposting to other services. A teacher will be available during the school day and will be very happy to support you.

In the meantime, we wish each and every one of our families all the very best and look forward very much to learning resuming as soon as we are able to do so and seeing our Fishbourne family back together.
