Irresistible reading!

We are thrilled by the generous donations by Humberts and FOFS to enable every child to receive their own copy of their class book in which they can keep.

Elephant class are having lots of fun reading together 'You must bring a hat'.

Koala class have been enjoying other books by David Walliams and so we have chosen to read his brand new book - Fing! We will enjoy making comparisons between this book and others he has written. The book provides challenge and stretch whilst being familiar in style.

Panther class will be enjoying the whole class text of Shrunk by Fleur Hitchcock, starting in a couple of weeks. This tells the exciting story of a boy who is able to shrink things and take them on adventures. Little does he know that Grandma is on the prowl…..

Tiger class have been reading the Nowhere Emporium by Ross Mackenzie. Tigers have been captivated by this magical adventure story. Isla said that she was hooked the moment she started and that she could not put the book down. Lois said she was entranced by the magical story and she really wanted to read on.

Panda class have been reading 'Beetle Boy' by M.G. Leonard.  Phil, from 'Jaws and Claws', brought some of his amazing animals in to show us just how fascinating and important beetles are.

We have really enjoyed getting engrossed in Darkus's mission to find his father, we're just hoping that he'll manage it!

Alongside reading the book we have explored the companion text , 'A Beetle Collectors Handbook' and the Pandas have designed their own beetle and written a faction (a blend of fact and fiction) piece to describe it.
